Tee Jay Vikings Fund sponsors SNaCC
(TJVF)

TJVF is excited to offer an opportunity to pair mentors and students in a nutrition and cooking program that will be fun, full of helpful information and designed to provide a better understanding of food we eat and our health.

TJVF is sponsoring SNaCC, a Student Nutrition and Cooking Class for Thomas Jefferson students. Our first class is scheduled to begin the week of January 8; Just in time for students to settle down after returning from their Winter break. SNaCC will be a 6-week program, designed, to be held once a week, to introduce students to more healthy alternatives to ever so pervasive junk food.  Sessions will include tastings of “real” food snacks followed by a lively round table discussion centered on ingredients and their health benefits. A “recipe of the day” will be introduced and discussed, followed by actual hands on preparation.  Recipes will be simple and require minimal time and tools, all designed to encourage students to make it and share it with family and friends.

Mentors are needed. If you are interested in working beside students to instruct and guide recipe preparation please consider joining us. If you are interested in making a difference in a student’s future please consider joining us. If you enjoy cooking and want to encourage others to enjoy and appreciate the satisfaction of cooking real food please consider joining us.
